Dr. Mitchell Brown is one of Canada's leading plastic surgeons. He specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, body contouring and facial surgery. He has been in practice since 1995.
Dr. Brown is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Medicine (London, Ontario). He completed his medical degree in 1988, and went on to complete a surgical internship at Toronto Western Hospital. That was followed by a 5 year plastic surgery residency at the University of Toronto. Dr. Brown became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1994.
Dr. Brown is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. He is the Director of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency training program at the University of Toronto, and is actively involved in undergraduate/postgraduate education. He has published numerous plastic surgery articles, predominantly on aesthetic surgery and reconstructive breast surgery.
Dr. Brown is often requested to lecture on topics of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery and educate others. He is the course director of the Toronto Annual Breast Surgery Symposium, Canada's largest annual medical symposium of its kind. Dr Brown is also the founder of Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day (BRA Day) recognizing the importance of access and awareness for post-mastectomy breast reconstruction.
Dr. Brown is an active staff member at Women's College Hospital and North York General, both in Toronto, Ontario. He is a member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society for Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
