Vein Removal in Canada

A vein is a blood vessel that carries blood through you body. Problem veins include varicose veins and spider veins. Varicose veins are large veins that can often bulge from the skin, they can be red or blue and cause discomfort. Spider veins are tiny, purple and red blood vessels commonly found on the face or thighs and lower legs. Although they carry blood, they are not part of the venous valve system and can be eliminated safely and permanently through a simple treatment done by a qualified physician.

Treatments for larger veins include stripping, endoscopic removal and radiofrequency techniques. The techniques are often performed through a referral from your GP, or can be performed at a private clinic.

For small cosmetic veins, Sclerotherapy is a quick, comfortable, non-surgical procedure to reduce the appearance and discomfort of spider or smaller veins. Doctors inject a small amount of sclerosant into the vein, which attacks the lining, causing them to collapse and be absorbed into the skin. Spider veins usually require multiple sessions, depending on the specific condition.

Laser surgery can also be effective on spider veins, the laser sends a strong burst of light into the vein which bursts and dissappears. This treatment is particularly effective on the face and reduces redness of the face caused by broken veins.
