I have had 4 children and my stomach is a mess, I have collapsed muscles and lots of loose skin. My back hurts because when I walk I bend over from the heaviness. I hear breast reduction is sometimes covered my OHIP, is tummy tuck ever covered?
Provincial Health Insurance will sometimes cover a procedure called a “panniculectomy” which is the removal of a heavy abdominal overhang. It is not done for reasons of appearance and is not the same procedure as a tummy tuck. If a better appearance is the goal of surgery, a privately funded tummy tuck (also referred to as an abdominoplasty) is the way to proceed.
