    Hi

I’m a cigarette smoker and wondering if this means I can’t/shouldn’t get a tummy tuck until I quit smoking.

    Thank you

Yes you are right! Smoking reduces blood flow and specifically the nicotine. Smoking can cause increased risk of infection, problems with wound healing and tissue death

You must stop smoking 2 weeks before and after tummy surgery . No nicotine substitutes like Nicorette gum or patch.

You can use Champix or Zyban, see your family doctor to discuss.
