Buttock Augmentation / Brazilian Butt Lift in Canada
Buttock Augmentation is a procedure that increases the size and changes the shape of the buttocks. This procedure has greatly increased in popularity over the past few years. There are a few ways that the buttock area can be increased.
Buttock implants are one option. Buttock implants are made of a soft but solid silicone, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. It is a solid silicone so will not rupture or leak. Incisions are placed in the crease and folds of the buttocks so are not noticable. Problems with buttock implants are displacement/movement of the implant and the implant being visable.
More frequently a procedure called the Brazilian Butt Lift is performed. With a Brazilian Butt Lift your own fat is used to augment the buttocks, so you will need to have excess fat in other areas of your body that can be removed by liposuction, purified and injected. Often fat is taken from the waist, as a smaller waist enhances the appearance of a larger buttock.
Your surgeon will give you specific recovery instructions, but usually you will be asked to wear a compression garment and rest for the first 2 weeks, and to not sit down. This part of the recovery can be very difficult for a patient, but is important so that you heal properly. You will probably be instructed not to participate in strenuous activities for 3 – 4 weeks.
