How much will I lose?
Individuals participating in the Orbera™ Intragastric Balloon Program can expect to have significant weight loss in the first six months. The amount of weight you lose and how long you maintain that weight loss will depend on how well you adopt long-term lifestyle changes related to eating and exercise.

A good aim is to try and average a loss of 2lbs per week, throughout the 6 months that the Orbera™ intragastric balloon is in place, giving a total weight loss of about 20-40 lbs.

Experience has shownthat 70-80% of a patient's weight loss typically occurs during the first three months of treatment. After that time, the presence of the intragastric balloon plays a supportive role in helping patients to maintain their new nutrition and exercise habits.
