IPL Intense Pulsed Light in Canada

IPL stands for Intense pulsed light and is a carefully defined spectrum of light applied to the surface of the skin usually by a hand-held wand. It is used to treat sun damage, acne, rosacea and skin redness, spider veins, pigmented skin and birth marks, reduce pores and the reduce hair. Patients usually require multiple sessions.

IPL, like many non-surgical procedures, does not have to be performed by a plastic surgeon, but care should be taken when choosing a clinic as there are risks involved if the treatment is not performed with care. Many Canadian plastic surgeons have medical aesthetic staff performing IPL treatments at their clinics.
